The Brenau Department of Dance’s annual Summer Dance Intensive, taught by a faculty featuring nationally and internationally recognized artists, is a comprehensive dance program that specializes in styles such as ballet, modern, West African and jazz. The curriculum includes daily technique classes in ballet, jazz and modern, supplemented by pointe and variations, male technique, pas de deux, tap, music for dancers, pilates and yoga. There will be repertory classes for students to learn and understand the choreographic and performance process. Evening rehearsals are directed toward the culminating performance at Hosch Theater at the John S. Burd Center for Performing Arts. Open to students 14 or older, with on-campus housing provided.
