Join us on November 9th, 2022 for the First Annual Brenau University Speech Competition! We invite 5-7 minute recorded speech submissions with or without visual aids on this year's topic: Diversity. At Brenau University we are celebrating Diversity throughout the year through the Women's College GOLD program. We want to know, what does diversity mean to you? Why is it important? What does diversity lend our community? How do we foster diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging?

All students at the high school and college level are invited to submit. Do you have a speech that will inspire our community? Once your recording has been submitted, a panel of Brenau faculty, staff, and students will determine who will advance to the final round. Competitors in the final round will be invited to campus in-person or virtually to deliver their speeches; the best speeches in each age category will receive cash prizes and Brenau swag!

WHEN: Initial submissions are due virtually on Tuesday, October 25. Finalists will be chosen from the pool and notified in time for the fall competition on Wednesday, November 9th, which we plan to be a hybrid in-person and online gathering in the late afternoon.

HOW: All entries must be uploaded to YouTube and the link must be submitted to the form below by October 25th, along with additional information through an entry form. Be sure to make your video and link shareable.

WHY: You could win cash prize(s) for your wallet and awards that will look great on your resume. Hone your public speaking skills and share wonderful ideas with others. Enjoy networking opportunities with the Brenau community and students from other schools.
